1. About this policy
This policy explains how Alltech Installs Pty Ltd (ABN 80 703 619 649, ACN 703 619 649) ("we", "us", "our") collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to information collected through alltechinstallstec.site, by email, and in the course of quoting and carrying out installation work.
2. What we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:
- your name and email address;
- the address of the property where work is to be done, and access instructions;
- details of the equipment, rooms and work you would like quoted;
- photos of the site that you choose to send us;
- network names or device settings you give us so we can configure equipment;
- billing and payment records for work we carry out.
We do not ask for sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) and ask that you do not send it to us. You can make a general enquiry without identifying yourself, but we will need your details to quote for or carry out work.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you, for example when you email us, use the contact form on our website (which opens an email in your own email program), or speak with us on site. We may also collect information from someone acting on your behalf, such as a property manager or a family member arranging an installation.
4. How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes;
- schedule, carry out, test and hand over installation work;
- issue invoices and keep business and tax records;
- follow up on work we have done, including warranty or support matters;
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for direct marketing without your consent. If you agree to hear from us and later change your mind, tell us and we will stop.
5. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or where you consent or the law requires or permits it. This may include equipment suppliers (for example, for delivery or warranty claims), licensed tradespeople engaged for part of a job, our accountants and professional advisers, and providers of the email and hosting services we use to run the business.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of the email, website hosting and cloud services we use may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps under APP 8 to ensure the information is handled consistently with the APPs.
7. Cookies
Our website is a simple static site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, analytics scripts or social-media pixels. Our hosting provider may record standard technical information, such as IP addresses and request times, in server logs used for security and keeping the site running.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including using password-protected accounts. Any network passwords or device logins you give us for an install are used only for that job and returned to you at handover.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above or as required by law (for example, tax records). When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
9. Access and correction
Under APPs 12 and 13 you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. Email us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will explain why in writing, as the law allows.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, please email us first with details of your concern. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au, or by calling 1300 363 992.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
